Dan takes top prize on a soggy afternoon in Richmond
British summertime showed its true colours as our community members experienced a soggy Saturday.
Despite the terrible conditions, Dan Gibbs was able to grind out the win on the day, scoring 36 points at Richmond Park Golf Course. The 16-handicapper made it two chip-ins in two events as he saved par with a great effort on the 18th, two weeks after marking his Launch Series debut with a chip-in birdie at Addington Court. Dan won himself an American Golf voucher as well as the all important Launch Series points.
Tomás Abernethí was hot on Dan’s heels, scoring 34 points for the second time in succession after making his first appearance two weeks ago in an action-packed day at Addington Court. Tomas bagged himself a sleeve of Pro V1 golf balls for coming second on the day, whilst Daniel Giegel also won a £30 Golf Escapes voucher through a prize draw.
Shot of the day goes to Mark Smith, who holed out from 140 yards on the third hole to make a birdie after driving his tee shot into a hazard – not a bad way to make your Launch Series debut!
