Raising the Profile of Blind Golf

Andy Gilford is a board member of England & Wales Blind Golf and he is looking to raise the profile of blind golf around the world. He writes for My Circle Golf today.

Most people think when you lose your sight that’s the end of golf, but to be honest, the blind golf organisations around the world give members far more than just golf. The only difference from sighted golf is we can ground our clubs in a hazard. We rely on guides lining us up and describing the shot ahead. Then you trust your swing.

There are 3 categories in blind golf; b1 totally blind, b2 & b3. I have been lucky to have some amazing experiences around the world and in July will play for the World Team against USA & Canada in Creston in the ISPS Handa Vision Cup, our Ryder Cup.

Please could I ask as many members as possible who use twitter to follow our twitter page (@EWBlindGolf) and help grow the word of blind golf around the world. Direct message the page for further details of tournaments around the world.
